Lake Hopatcong Offshore Grand Prix Returns: The Roar is Back on New Jersey's Largest Lake
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Lake Hopatcong, NJ
September 9, 2026
The OPA Racing fleet is headed back to Lake Hopatcong September 18-20 for the Lake Hopatcong Offshore Grand Prix, three days of racing, music, and lakeside spectacle you won't want to miss.

Last season, Lake Hopatcong made history when, for the first time ever, a full-scale powerboat race ran on the main lake — a 3.8-mile, 8-turn course in front of tens of thousands of fans. This September, OPA Racing returns to do it all again, and the buzz around the lake is already building.
The weekend kicks off Thursday as the pits open and teams roll into town. But the real welcome comes Thursday night at the Racer Party at Mason Street — live bands, cold drinks, and the entire offshore community under one roof. If you've never experienced a Thursday night racer party, this is the one to be at.
Friday brings registration, tech inspections, and testing on the water before the Lake Hopatcong Offshore Grand Prix Welcome Party fires up with live bands from 5pm to 10pm. Then Saturday and Sunday are all racing — JSBR heats, Class 700, 600, 500, 400, 300, Super Vee, Modified Vee, SuperCat, Super Stock, and Factory Stock all taking their shot at the checkered flag.
With live bands running throughout the weekend, an awards ceremony Sunday evening, and the biggest community event of the year on the shoreline, Lake Hopatcong is the place to be September 18–20.
Come for the racing. Stay for the party. Built in the Pits. Proven on the Water.™
