St. Clair River Classic Concludes With High-Speed Thrills and Unforgettable Racing

The 2026 St. Clair River Classic delivered another spectacular weekend of offshore powerboat racing, with teams battling the current and each other in front of crowds along the boardwalk.

The St. Clair River once again proved why it is one of the most iconic and challenging venues on the OPA Racing circuit. With unpredictable currents, tight quarters, and the sheer speed of the world's best offshore racing teams, this year's St. Clair River Classic was nothing short of Michigan perfection.

Fans lined the boardwalk, packing the shoreline to witness a great line up of teams across all classes echoing across the water. The close competition kept spectators entertained, as multiple classes saw battles across the international date lined course.

"This is what OPA Racing is all about," said OPA Commissioner Ed "Smitty" Smith. "The St. Clair community always welcomes us with open arms, and the teams put on a show that reminds everyone why offshore racing is the greatest spectacle on the water."

The sentiment was echoed throughout the pits. Clouatre Cartel Offshore Racing summed up the weekend perfectly: "After a crazy year of racing, the OPA event in St. Clair was exactly what this sport needed at exactly the right time. From the moment we rolled into town, the local community, city officials, and volunteers welcomed us with open arms and showed us incredible hospitality... It reminded all of us of the 'F-word' that sometimes gets lost in the chaos... FUN. That's why we do this."
